What is vitamin D and why does my baby need it?
Sometimes called the ‘sunshine vitamin’, vitamin D is produced when your skin is exposed to sunlight. Vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium and phosphorus to build healthy bones, teeth and muscles. It is important for your baby to have adequate levels of vitamin D so he can grow strong bones and healthy teeth and enamel.
Note: Among Pediatricians who recommend a specific brand of formula. Visit the official website for more information.
Your little one depends on you for the very best nutrition
While experts agree breast milk has beneficial nutrients for your baby, breast milk is low in vitamin D, an important nutrient for healthy bones and teeth. As your baby hits a growth spurt or gets older and transitions to solids, be sure he’s getting the essential nutrients he needs.
Both moms and pediatricians have trusted Enfamil liquid vitamin supplements for generations, that’s why Enfamil offers a complete family of vitamins to help meet baby and mom’s nutritional needs.
- Vitamin drops may be given by dispensing directly into the mouth or mixed with breastmilk, formula, fruit juice, cereal or other foods
- Vitamins A, C and D are important for supporting growth and immune system development
- Enfamil D-Vi-Sol, Tri-Vi-Sol, and Poly-Vi-Sol all meet the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendation of 400 IU of vitamin D per day
